Below are several helpful resources that can aid in fostering mental well-being within your team and personal lives.

  • A 24/7 toll-free hotline that connects callers with local crisis centers.

    If you are in crisis, or you know someone who is, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline or dial 911 in case of emergency.

  • The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. SAMHSA envisions that people with, affected by, or at risk for mental health and substance use conditions receive care, achieve well-being, and thrive

  • The National Alliance on Mental Illness offers information, referrals, and support.

    NAMI is a nonprofit, grassroots, self-help, support and advocacy organization of individuals with mental disorders and their families. Their website provides resources on mental disorders that are helpful for people who have experienced mental illness and their families, including support groups, education and training.

  • FindTreatment.gov, the confidential and anonymous resource for persons seeking treatment for mental and substance use disorders in the United States and its territories.

  • A website and hotline that can help with food, housing, and other essential services.

    Dialing 211 helps direct caller services for, among others, the elderly, the disabled, those who do not speak English, those having a personal crisis, those with limited reading skills, and those who are new to their communities.

  • The Hidden Opponent is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and advocacy group that raises awareness for student-athlete mental health and addresses the stigma within sports culture. 

    “We believe that all student-athletes should be able to speak openly about their mental health experiences without worrying about being judged or viewed as weak.”

  • Mental Health America advances the mental health and well-being of all people living in the U.S. through public education, research, advocacy and public policy, and direct service.
